OK, so the new directors are distancing themselves from Anderson (start cheering Eric), hence the new R rating. They're also introducing the new Predalien hybrid

Make of it what you will

Hence the R rating? It looks like that is their main selling point. R-rated trailers are extremely rare, and usually aren't played in most theaters. It's almost like they are showing all of the best parts of the movie, too.

Almost sounds like the humans are secondary based on that interview.

No comments on the Predalien, huh? Figured most here would have an opinion on that one way or the other, kinda like the baby Alien in Alien 4

Both John Rambo trailers were R-rated. Guess that's why they were online only. But they certainly did the job and with the Internet increasingly becoming a main source of entertainment for the main target demographic (13-17 and 18-34), it's smart. Don't have to pay to have it attached to a flick, you can make it much more edgy, and it even has the potential to reach a much wider audience. I say it becomes the norm in a few years and trailers attached to flicks will be less important.

As much money as Rocky Balboa made, I'm shocked he got a $60M budget for Rambo 4. Rocky is a bit bigger name IMO and he only had a $24M budget for that one and everyone was shocked that it made $70M+ . He's also writing, producing, directing, and starring in Rambo, so it's a similar situation. If that's the case, do they think they can make as much as a surprise hit again? If they only equal Rocky they've just broken even before DVD sales and rentals. Bit of a risk on an action flick starring a juiced-up and washed-up 60 year-old actor IMO.

Mind you, I'm a little excited and will go see it for cheap. Was always a fan of the series even if the third one was a little cheesy and not quite as good as the first two, which were excellent.

Har doesn't look too bad.

But it'll pass or fail based on the strength of the Humans cast.

Uhhh... we weren't really talking about Rambo. This is what I think of when I think of Rambo.
