Wow, this episode probably was probably the first one in the new series to completely and utterly insult my intelligence. In fact, it insulted my intelligence in new ways I never thought possible.

I mean, this fight has been going on for about 10 episodes, and their solution is to "fight harder"? Wow, I guess the other 12 hours they didn't think of that. Not only that but Gai praises him for such a dumbass solution.

But yeah. This new Naruto series is horrible. I might stop watching and just stick to the manga.

I also recently abandoned watching K-F One Piece, which is like 93 episodes behind the episodes that air, so I have alot to watch heh. :)

I downloaded K-F One Piece, and my computer didn't run it. *sad*

yeah the KF One Piece is very high quality, I still download their stuff, because their translation is the best for One Piece, but I also download from other groups.

I still stand by my claim that One Piece is the most well-done of any of the "popular" animes.

And, of course, it's not even THAT popular, compared to the monlithic suck-fests of Naruto and teh Bleach.

Well, I wasn't trying to bash the entire Naruto series, just this episode. While the pacing is currently slow to try to stretch out gap between it and the manga, the story and action has been top-quality so far.

Eric, was this episode/situation in the manga at all? It looks like a filler trick, and not something that the manga would have produced.

The clones are in the manga, and it does keep them out of the main action of the storyarc. However I cant remember if it ends that same way or not.

Filler trick. Nobody gave a shit about those 4 in the manga when they were fighting, they just show up after their fight and....blah spoilers, but yeah it wasn't given nearly as much attention as it was in the Anime.

I'm sick of all the filler to be honest. The new series is way way way behind the manga at the moment, there's no reason for it to be taking this long per episode to finish up an Arc.

Yeah, that was a waste of a fucking episode, especially after a couple of pretty good episodes. I thought they were finally turning the corner and speeding it up a bit and getting rid of the inner-ep filler.

I'll have to see what it's like after the hour-long ep on the 27th. They've gotta just stop this junk and speed it up a bit. I won't stop watching it but I may just start building them up rather than watching them weekly. There's NO reason for this, if they're 70-80 real eps behind the manga, just do the damned shows properly then do filler later. It's better than this inner-ep filler garbage.

I seem to recall in the manga it was just like 'yeah we beat the clones, but it took a while.' The amount of space devoted to those guys is well under 1 page.

That's what my cousin kept saying. It was their main filler vehicle in this arc. Even my friend who doesn't watch the series watch that ep and commented on how much filler there was, that's how bad it was. Hopefully now that it's over the fucking inner-ep filler will be minimized.

One can only pray.

They'd probably be better off extending some of the later stuff that involves Orochimaru, Sasuke, or Itachi since those are the flagship characters for Naruto anyway. In fact I thought it was a bit too short in the manga.

Yeah, but apparently, the writers at Naruto are total dumbasses. At least Bleach can create some semi-decent filler (and some really shitty filler). Really, I know that there are limitations on what they can do, but the filler is really really stupid. A 4-year-old can write better stories.

How can a multi-million dollar company with an successful series not have a good staff of writers? Is anime really so damn dependent on their manga to be able to produce anything good? Is there an anime that wasn't based off of a manga?

One Piece has good filler.

I just thought of a great idea, they could have say 10 episodes where Naruto is figthing Itachi, and then it'd turn out that was only a clone. The next 10 episodes would involve Sasuke fighting Itachi, and again that'd turn out to be just his clone too. And then it can be some other fan favorite (Garra maybe) versus someone's clone. Heck they can be fighting clones of people who hasn't even showed up in the manga yet, and it'd still be okay because when they caught up they can always say well that was a special clone.

I think Bleach they figured out Toshiro Hitsugaya was their 2nd most popular character so they just throw him in as often as possible in the fillers, and that seems to work out at least sort of okay. If you're going to make fillers at least put the characters people actually care about.

Toshiro Hitsugaya is also in the spotlight for the 2nd Bleach movie. :)

MUCH better to have filler arcs than this inner-ep filler shit
