I could beat a dead horse with cracks about the other movies, but then I'm not Zeus.....oh what the hell, Look Ma! A Resident Evil movie that isn't going to suck complete and total ass!

Extinction was a bit weak and a bit of a cop-out. It's almost like they just wanted to get it over with. But I liked the first two

Looks like they are trying to potentially do it right. I guess. I can't really see much from the trailer, though. At least it said "Capcom". That's a good sign, right?

Look closer there bub-- this is Resident Evil: Degeneration. That makes movie #4. I thought/hoped they'd end at 3...

Yes, I know it's the fourth. I was simply giving my opinion on the first three

Tessian's on his way to earning a new forum title: "I didn't actually read your post."

Haha I read them, but sometimes my mind likes to replace words on me. Like Sephy with Seraphina, or in this case I somehow missed the word 'Extinction' in Zeus's response and thought he was referring to the linked trailer.

My apologies Zeus.

A CGI animated movie? *shrug*

EDIT: Not that I have anything against most CGI movies, I just don't think it fits Resident Evil.

Objection!

How can you ascertain a movie's quality by a vague trailer alone?

He'd better not fight Sephiroth at the end.

I vowed I'd never watch another RE movie after the second piece of trash, but I may watch this one.

I take it you didn't play Resident Evil 2 the day it came out back on the PSX? =o

CG and Resident Evil can look very very good together.

And no this is movie has 0 relation to the Live actions ones, thank god.

Capcom has full creative control with the direction so it should be alot more faithful to the games and story.

I recognized Leon in it, so I knew it wasn't related to the live action movies. I dunno, it just feels cheesy to me. I guess because I'm not a huge fan of the series. Also, the chick with the red hair(that wasn't Claire was it?) in the beginning didn't look very good.. The rest of the animation looked good though.

Square had complete control over their FF movies and look how those turned out. The live action RE movies were better than those.

One thing baffles my mind... I am not really sure how some people here can like 300 and not the RE movies, 300 is easily stupider. (of course, keep in mind that my opinion is subjective and I am like one of the 300 people on the North American continent that actually hated this movie, luckily a lot of them were film critics :P).

Final Fantasy fans liked Advent Children and it was a success for the company, enough to prompt a re-release in Blu-Ray format with new scenes. FF fans didn't however like the one released in theaters which was nothing like a Final Fantasy game, or had any relation to it, and well nobody else did either.

In this case, this movie is catered more to the RE fans, and not the crappy live action movie that was catered to everyone and shit on the fans of the series for the sake of a profit, and had Alice the super-bitch kicking dogs and zombies in the face while running up and down buildings, or fist fighting the Nemesis to death.

Advent Children, however, was pure fan service. It would be nice if this movie is not. Although I admit I don't care too much.

I would say that Advent Children and the RE movie series are polar extremes between fan service and service to the lowest common denominator. Either extreme is bad, but it should still be closer to source material.

300 is just pure kick-ass adrenaline. It's not stupid because it's whole point is to be as bad-ass as possible, and it succeeds.

Anyway, fuck the live action Resident Evils. The newest one--the one critics actually LIKED--stole what little semblance of plot that it had from fucking Day of the Dead and all of its action sequences were just plain rediculous, to the degree that the movie looked and felt like a B-action flick, and its interesting premise soon melted away into some off-kilter, unbalanced crazy mix of Road Warrior, Xena, and Scooby Doo, with every single FUCKING character proving themselves to be extremely and terribly annoying.

Fuck Resident Evil: Extinction.

You know what?

Fuck ALL of the live action Resident Evils. Fuck them all, the earlier ones have been made WORSE by the later ones, and the first one was a pretty shitty movie to begin with anyway.

As for this CG movie, I can't tell anything from that trailer except that it's using kind of dated CG graphics--but, after Beowulf, I suppose I'm a little jaded. It just looks like some in-game cinematic right now.

Also, unrelated, but did you all hear that Beowulf was rated by the American Public to be the number 1 most disappointing film this year?

HAHA. 300 was brilliant because it took a shitty Frank Miller story (Which really encompases everything but his daredevil) and was totally faithful while adding more in parts that needed it. It was awesome for what it was......a testasterone fueled epic with no substance but was far superior than the original material

no it's the truth. the movie was better than the book. Why because Lyn's colors were the best part of the book and they translated that too the movie. and added more to make it actually have some semblance of substance. it kept true to the material and improved upon it something that Sin City could have benefited from

Jesus Christ. I don't understand how you can think this! The movie was the comic, completely the subtleties and nuances that made the comic something more than typical chest-beating testosterone-worshipping roid-rage garbage; which is all that the film was.

I will admit that Varley's colours were probably the best thing about 300, but Jesus. The movie was bad, and the comic, while not Miller's best (YEAR ONE), was infinitely better than it.

and I enjoyed it because I was expecting another shit frank miller story (Because he's a hack) and I got something that was better than what I had originally read

Frank Miller is a have. Year one and DKR are both overrated and shit. Daredevil was the only good thing he's done and even parts of that were weak as hell

yes a masterpiece in turning batman into an insane ass hole which ruined the character for years because everyone tried to write frank miller batman which was retarded.

And I think DKR is a masterpiece and Year One is overrated.

Miller's Batman is interesting and compelling. I don't have much interest in the continuity books because I rarely found their treatment compelling.

That's because Nine Inch Nails--i.e. Trent Reznor--is a musical genius.

the reason the continuity books sucked is because every kept trying to do frank miller batman. making him more and more of an insane dick until finally with the new stuff making him a cool fun adventure character again. yeah he's still dar and sooky and a genius but he's not the idiot he became where eventually he became just as bad as what he was fighting. although that's probably because Paul Dini is writing Detective and it's fucking genius
