Fuckers, why the fuck do they do that? I have to pee by the end. Don't make me stay till after the credits just to see that "Oh look Johnny O'Toole was a grip on this film"

WHO

FUCKING

CARES!

PUT IT IN THE DAMN MOVIE!

Agreed. The scene after the credits was priceless.

I could have done without some of Obadiah's cheesy lines, but that is my only complaint. RDJ is the perfect Tony Stark.

Screw that, last time you told me go and see Superman Returns, and that freakin movie was a snore fest, save for the 1 scene where he caught a bloody airplane.

Eric, I haven't even seen the movie, but everything about it looks fucking awesome. Superman, OTOH, easily one of my most hated superheroes.

it is awesome. It's also not a ton of Iron Man. but the Iron Man parts re ridiculously awesome. But RDj as Tony Stark just steals the show. All in all this is a lesson on exactly how to tell an orgin story for a superhero. also how to do a superhero movie. It's sort of a melding of all the updated orgins of Tony Stark. Great script and solid acting all around. A lot of real easter eggs for comic fans thrown in there that totally geeked me out. not to mention the whole government agency thing was hilarious. also...greatest last line of a movie ever. and so perfectly in character....also the line after the last line......even better

We were the only ones who stayed 'til the end of the credits. Stupid kids, you'd think they'd learned by now after X-Men and Pirates

I still think the whole "After the credits thing" is a lame stunt.

eh. before that point it was only a rumor. now it's official. although as a whole yes I agree. It's kind of annoying but I can see the purpose. they could just as easily have ended the movie with it. although the line everyone thinks they end the movie with is just so fucking perfect. even so I wish they had put it after the initial credit sequence. It was kinda cool looking at wireframe development of a certain armor that should pop up in the next movie.....notice the chain guns....all that awesomeness.......yeah....I could watch someone make fukkin war machine all damn day..

Eric, if you don't want to spend the coin, grab the decent telesync that's out. That way you can at least see it without spending the coin if you don't feel it's justified. They don't need your money anyways, it made over $100M this weekend :-)

Before any of you idiots say anything different, I saw it in theatres on Saturday night.

It's not that I don't think it's worth seeing. I'm just concerned because everyone said the same thing about Superman Returns, and I literally almost fell asleep in the theater during that one.

yes well this one does actually have flame throwers, rockets, missles, punching, and most importantly....repulsor beams....sweeeeeeeeeet.....there is't a ton of huge acion. a lot of it is creating the suits and delving into the mind of a weapons manufacturer kidnaped by crazy terrorists which for some reason are called the ten rings. Madarin do I wonder what that signifies. great acting work, set pieces, and really.....RDJ never gets boring....which is really odd to say.

I don't know what to say other than that every superhero movie I've seen....ever. has had at least one cringe inducing moment.....A green Goblins mask, a mask coming off every 2 seconds, a dance number, a plot hole you could drive a truck through. until this at least. really it's one of the first superhero movies I've seen where I didn't have to forget my love of the comics. where I didn't have to say....ok Chris...you gotta remember it's not the comic....because really....it manages to be the most faithful comic movie I've seen that can still stand on it's own as a movie rather than a movie about a comic.

sequel coming as well as Thor, ant-man, Captain America, and Avengers. sweet....it's official....and Iron Man 2 will subtly introduce Thor. I doubt it will be as Thor but my bet is there will be a Dr. Donald Blake somewhere in the movie which would lead to the Thor movie. both now slated for 2010 with captain america and avengers in 2011 and Ant-Man most likely being the only 2009 movie. hwever the writer and director is Edgar Wright which has me hopeful that a god job is done with it. It's interesting how they seem to be targeting indy directors rather than the big names....brings a lot of interesting things into it...

Marvel Studios released Iron Man themselves, a great way to start off considering it made $100M in the US and almost that much worldwide and on Thursday. Already recouped more than their budget and it's only opening weekend.

They're gonna do it there way which is good IMO. You KNOW they'll take care of the source material and not allow the studio to influence it (hello, Spiderman 3). So going indy might be a good thing, no director trying to tell them what to do.
