The girlfriend and I saw this little movie tonight. We just got home and I'm going to read my philosophy homework and she's going to continue her run through deadspace. But before that let me regale you with my impressions of the movie.

First of all, I thought it was really good. I didn't really enjoy corpse bride. Too much singing you see, and too much just awful script. It was nice to look at, but not much else. I was very disappointed by it. Nightmare before Christmas is a faded memory to me. I haven't seen it since I was a child and the most fresh memories I have of it spring from my time with Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. So my expectations of the movie were not very high.

So it was certainly a a feast of the senses. The characters and scenery were beautiful to behold, and the audio was very well done. The 5.1 was really good, and I've noticed that most movies don't really capitalize on that regularly.

It wasn't a very mature movie, but I think that people of all ages could enjoy it. I would definitely recommend bringing a girlfriend or any variety of female companion, as I think it is more tailored to that sex. That isn't to say that I didn't like it, but I think Deborah just liked it more. It was pretty cool, but there was one thing that really seemed to stand out for me. The movie seemed like a game. I know that sounds retarded, but there is a sequence where Coraline must play a game with someone and it really plays out like a series of fetch quests. It's not a bad thing, but it just seemed kind of weird to me.

Anyways, all in all, if you see a preview of this movie and think that it might be for you, I recommend it.

The music is Coheed and Cambria "Welcome Home." I was addicted to that song after watching the trailer the first time.
