I mean, even a normal rock band fan would laugh their ass off and then hate her for years. But these are Radiohead fans we're talking about, for Christ's sake. As far as I know, for serious Radiohead fans (I enjoy their music but am not one), even God takes a back seat to Thom Yorke.

I am surprised that REALITY ITSELF did not immediately tear Miley apart limb from limb into her component atoms rather than let her eventually realize how utterly powerless she is to do anything about Radiohead's success. I mean, I can't think of a force in music less likely to be compromised by a Miley Cyrus vendetta. She'd do better to start a beef with 50 Cent.

LOVE it. I'm one of those huge fans of Radiohead and silly Hannah Montana would never change my views about the band. I'm glad they snubbed her AND Kanye West off. Why should they be forced to meet people they probably don't like or respect as artists.

Cyrus will be nothing in a few years when the show's completely dead. She seems to think she's this huge star when it's just Disney proppin' her up right now. Too many diva-like actions at too young of an age. Her daddy should get smacked around for not controlling her.

That's okay. She'll end up like Brittany Spears or Lindsey Lohan. Disney's good at creating people like that. Hell, with a character name like Hannah Montana (which sounds like a fucking porn name), she's destined to have 3 kids when she's 20 and be on the cover of Star every week.

I do agree. It's not easy to live life in a fishbowl and Miley is young. We should remember that and give her some slack there - but I also think she probably gets a pass from a lot of people because she's Hannah Montana, and that's why she feels like she can say this stuff. Somebody needs to bring her back to Earth, and I understand Thom Yorke has responded wonderfully to her statement in a way that should remind her to be a bit more humble.

More seriously, yeah. He's not doing a good job of parenting. I understand there is some valid concern as to how much he cares about his daughter and how much he cares about the lavish house his daughter's popularity is buying him (as one example).

Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks has a great commentary verse on the whole female pop star phenomenon on their new album:

The song is called "Trail of Lies" off A History of Violence, it's pretty widely released. I HIGHLY recommend it to any hip hop fans or even anyone concerned with the modern pop industry and reality media's exploitation of girls and women. He frames the first verse as an address to his cousin about his niece regarding the dangers of defining one's self-image from that culture, it's really powerful stuff. JMT in general is just off the hinges in terms of the social commentary, I actually can't think of anyone who has the balls to say the shit Vinnie is saying right now.

That's like the worst song they have. Go listen to OK Computer or In Rainbows or for a more traditional alternative album, The Bends.

Thom Yorke is a genius and say/do whatever the hell he wants.... to anyone, anywhere, about anything.

Great album, but all I can think about when I pay attention to the lyrics is that he must be making fun of Carmen Electra, especially since Carmen is the "empty girl" in the video.
