Lots and lots of fail on the Studio's part.

It's not even a low quality cam type thing, it's a really nice version of the unfinished film(Special effects missing here and there).

19000 Seeds, and 48000 Leachers @ Pirate Bay.

Oh boy. >_>

I saw it on the private tracker I go to. I was reading reviews and people were saying it wasnt very good even knowing it was missing some of the effects.

HA! Told ya it'd be good. I, being a good citizen, will wait until it hits theaters.

That's what I thought... which means nothing's happened yet, so once again what made you think the website was taken down?

I'd feel worse about this if the word was that the movie was actually good, but this still really sucks for the studio, since it's the kind of movie every teenager and 20-something who still thinks studios don't take massive risks to develop these things will pirate. At some point they've really got to clobber somebody with a high-profile theft and fraud case that sends somebody to jail for awhile or this kind of thing is going to start making studios take less chances on making movies.

See, in a free-market state, this would be a crime punishable by death!

Well, if they bothered with things like "plot" and "acting", they wouldn't have this problem. You don't see people pirating Watchmen, do you? No, because people are willing to go see it in theaters.

This wasn't a risk. This was something safe, with pretty special FXs to try to carry over the movie.

LOL WHAT THE FUCK makes you think this is true? Of course they do! What's with all the totally ignorant comments in this thread? It will mean FEWER people will download it, but there's still plenty of cheap ass "haxx0rz" who will anyway. That being said, Mental's comments are just as stupid, although it is definitely the studio's fault for not keeping a tighter lid on these things or making it VERY PUBLIC when/if they find out who did it and string them to the wall.

Well, boxoffice sales show that many more people were willing to watch X-men in theatres than Watchmen.

X-Men is a lot more well known, thus higher sales figures. Still, I doubt this new Wolverine flick is going to pull more than Watchmen. We'll find out a month from now.

And no, I wasn't saying that NOBODY was pirating Watchmen. I was saying you don't see people pirating it as in "your friends and co-workers are watching it on theaters, instead of pirating it".
