Anyone found something similar to the Sonos system?

This thing is expensive but I'd love to be able to pipe music into my bedroom and bathroom upstairs. I may wait till I buy a house but I thought this was pretty neat.

got one of these for my sister since she's big on the mac. Apparently it works with windows or OSwhateverisonmacthesedays. It was a nightmare to setup, but now that it works, you can just plug it into whatever stereo you have and it'll stream music for you.

It seems pretty simple to setup though. How was it a nightmare?

the mac laptop just couldn't connect to it. The instructions assumed that it would just all work, but it didn't. The other people I talked to who had it and recommended it had no such problems, though. My sister called the mac people and got it all sorted out, and now she enjoys the freedom to use her macbook, ipod touch, and iphone all with it.

Bought one of these for $70 at CompUSA's closing out sale. Works pretty well. Streams my file server via UPnP over my wireless and can play both my MP3s and internet radio.

Compare that to the shitty music bridge that Netgear sells. After all of the setup, you still need a laptop to control music selection. That's pretty dumb. Just put a control interface on the front.
