Lady Gaga is insane

Her music isn't something I am into (it rubs me the wrong way in the same way early 90's Madonna does), but those who know me know I am a fan of theatrics =)

Anyway, her performance at the VMA had a chandelier fall on top of her. Later on she started playing the piano and wrenching back and forth like she was drunk and on crack and then blood starts dripping from her chest; the camera pans to the crowd and everyone has a stunned look on their face like "What the fuck is going on here" then she turns around and it starts pouring out. She starts singing in a different pitch, putting her hand into the blood, and then some gets on her face. Then she starts screaming and falls to the floor still screaming, ultimately to be pulled up by a rope so that she's hanging there with a dead look on her face, blood all over her including on the white of her right eye.

Fairly fucked up shit. It's worth a watch if you can find it.

Not surprising performance coming from her though, she's essentially a white Grace Jones/Christina Aguilera cross hermaphrodite.

Shes a nut job, but also talented. If you havent seen this video, give it a watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oP8SrlbpJ5A

Her outfits at the VMA's were crazy, too.

I personally think she just knows how to play the game. This shock value will bank her millions.

She is the only person in music right now crazy enough to inherit Madonna's mantle if she tries hard enough. She definitely is not an imitator.

That one's always been my favorite. She's quite an odd little cookie but I still think she's a musical genius and has an incredible voice. Oddly enough, I think her acoustic versions are better than the originals.

Lady Gaga in 2006
Wow! She took a full 180. Way different direction. She reminds me of one of those pretentious music student bands that play in small pubs =P

Unlike them though, she actually is destined to hit the top.

I didn't think it was all that bad in that 2006 video.

I think you're right. I was surprised at those piano sessions - I get the impression was just screwing around having fun with her songs. But being able to do that, and still sound that good, indicates serious talent. So, yeah, I think you're right in that she knows how to present her songs to get her radio play and become popular.
