Aizen, a useless villian

One thing I noticed in Bleach is that Aizen is really a pathetic villian. Even though he always acts like everything's under control and it's all 'part of the plan' (TM), he really has no idea what's going on. The whole rebellion could've been ended if they just killed him instead sticking a sword next to neck and then doing nothing. No I don't think he was holding back because otherwise he wouldn't have needed to call for reinforcements. The two captains working under him seems to be complete garbage and yet they act like they're super powerful. Does anyone seriously believe the blind guy is even as good as an average captain?

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Ichigo just do one of his transforms and KOed him in one hit, and everyone will be like 'hey that was totally easy!' I mean sure Bleach has one of the wildest character fluctuating power levels, but right now I'm getting the feeling that, even accounting to the fact that characters randomly swing between 1 to 10 on the power scale, Aizen was waging a war where he had no chance to win begin.

Don, please cheer the fuck up. You need to write a manga yourself or something.

If being able to do something is a prerequisite to criticize it then there will be no such thing as a bad manga, game, movie, or president.

Anyway it's not like it's a secret that Bleach's characters are all totally messed up.

That first sentence isn't the worst thing I've ever heard.

But Aizen is a pathetic villian

I don't mind when you do it, Zeus, because you don't seem quite so personally offended by every dumb plot device ever to grace the pages of a manga. But I should forgive Don too. Truthfully he can be whatever kind of critic he wants. As I've said before, my only desire would be that he appreciate some of the stuff he plays and watches a bit more.

That's true, I only get offended when it's movies, not manga :-)

It's not that the plot device is dumb by itself. Aizen isn't the first and certainly won't be the last villian to go with the 'I got a great plan but actually my master plan was just me versus the whole world!' It's the guys he has gathered around him and the way the character is portrayed that makes it really, really bad.

It's sort of like in Suikoden 3 where you see Luc's plan to destroy the world keep on failing and he's tell people he really got a plan going on, except in Luc's case you can actually feel sort of sympathetic for a guy who is working so hard to destroy the world only to have it ruined by stupid kids every time. In Aizen's case you can tell he has no plan but it's always like 'don't worry guys I'll take off my glasses and look cool, because I'm handsome.'

So you say that just makes him the equivalent of Sasuke in Naruto, except Sasuke actually has a legion of female fans so he is obviously handsome by their standards and he does look pretty cool. On the other hand I see more guys supporting the fat lietenant guy under Saifon than Aizen on the Bleach boards. It's like every fan is telling the author your main villian sucks and the author still thinks people love him. Naruto might be pretty bad too but at least in Naruto the author is aware that Sasuke can say and do dumb things can get away with it because people actually like him.

Bleach is terrible.

I've been sayin' for a while that the anime's been steadily going downhill since the first, big Soul Society arc. It's "neat" but the story just never got better. I think it's due to the fact that Aizen has been far too absent for far too long. That and the retarded amount of filler all the time since they keep catching up to the manga

I thought the Espadas are a lot more interesting than Aizen. People actually paid attention to the top 3 battles, whereas now moving to Aizen it's probably just going to be like: "OMG his soul power is over 9000!" and then 10 guys try to jump him and he KOs them all, and then Ichigo comes and gets angry and takes him out, and then throw in some more transformations. Now there's nothing wrong with a generic DBZ-by-the-book fight (at least it's really hard for me to imagine Bleach not go in this path) but even then, it just doesn't feel right.

Please keep in mind that I've only seen the anime and don't read the manga

It really doesn't matter who the enemy is, it's how they implement the plot. I find Bleach to be the laziest storytelling / battle resolution around. Every single fight I've ever seen ends with the good guy (Ichigo, peacock boy, Kira, etc) pulling out some crazy new technique the other person can't match. Every single fight. Unlike in Naruto, there's no creativity to the solutions of the battles. Not only is there nothing remotely touching the planning/strategy Shikamaru used to beat Hidan, there's nothing to even touch the "strategy" (and I use the term lightly) that Naruto used to beat Gaara (he did that on sheer willpower and creative use of previously used techniques). So the only thing you really have to look forward to in Bleach is what the next big, new technique someone is going to reveal. That's what makes the show dull.

That and the fact that they're constantly interrupting it with filler since they're close to the manga. I know a lot of people complained about Naruto's filler but it's better to have it all at once than constantly being interrupted. There was only what, 5 filler eps in the first 135? Mind you, that hasn't stopped them from nearly destroying the first half of Shippuuden with inner-ep and useless filler since they're so far behind the manga, but that's a different argument.

Well as a whole Bleach is just poorly thought out in terms of... everything. The running joke on the Chinese boards is that when people fake new manga info, if it looks like it's at all reasonable for Bleach it's got to be fake.

The latest chapter reminded me of DBZ when Goku is running back to Earth from Snake-road.

Originality much?

I thought the way back was like... sealed... which is why they got into this mess in the first place.
