'Bout time someone woke up and paid attention to the changing marketplace...

I would for certain older discs, that's for sure. I may just have to go out and get those discs I refused to pay $12 used for, they should be down to $5 soon.

It's a start. Now iTunes needs to do the same. A dollar a song is obscene.

Universal is absolute crap when it comes to their disks; I have never come across a company that produces so many defective disks.

I actually think that's a fair price. And isn't it $1.29 up here now?

Depends on the single, sometimes really hot singles go 30 cents moar. :)

Ah, they're doin' M$-type pricing on some songs, huh? Well, I would get the torrent in that case.

That would be over US$15 for a 12 song CD, and even more for 15-17 song CDs, which is no different or worse than buying a new CD. Apple can take that price and suck it. They can come back when they start charging 30-40 cents a song.

Yes, but for people like me who only really care about 1 to 3 songs on a CD, it's awesome. You know how many bands or singers I hear that only have one good song (my version of one-hit wonders)? At least 99% of the artists who's songs I like. So I'm far more willing to pay the pro-rated portion of the CD for only the songs I want.

Imagine game companies gave us this choice? Being able to buy only the single-player game instead of the multi as well? I know they've been trying the episodic model for a while and although it has been a failure other than a few hits (Sam and Max, Strong Bad, maybe Half Life episodes), there's still a ton of potential there IMO

You won't be happy until songs at 10 cents and CDs cost $1 will you?

No, that's the price of stuff at LegalSounds, and I think that's too cheap. Four bucks is much better.
