Rome: the HBO movie details (from last month)

The movie will begin in Germany 4 years after the series finale. Kevin Mckidd said that the movie will be independent of the series.

What I would gather from this is that it will possibly take place over a period of a few decades as Germany was the center for the next major event; the defeat of the Romans by Germany where an army of 20 thousand (including 3 entire Legions) was crushed during the attempted conquest of the main body of Germany beyond the Rhine.

That writing team got shafted twice with good series on HBO. It reminded me of the many shows of FOX that got the can.

Speaking of Fox and canning great shows:

There was a great show on Fox in the mid-90's called "Profit" that is worth checking out. It got canned because they didn't see the appeal of having a main character who was essentially the devil. He was a highly ranked corporate official, who slept in a cardboard box, and would use the dirtiest methods possible to eliminate anyone who stood in his way to the greatest successes possible.
