Homeland

Anyone checking this show out on Showtime?

Kind of an odd but great ensemble cast lead by Damian Lewis, Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, and Morena Baccarin. This, like In Treatment, is another adaptation of a Israeli series. So far two episodes in I'm impressed with the story, the acting, and the characters. It was amazing that each character is so deep just two episodes in.

If you get a chance watch this show.

Been watching this.. it's pretty good. Makes me miss NBCs old show Life with Damien Lewis, though.

Wasn't impressed with the second episode, but with Lewis and Danes I'll give it some more time.

I read an article about this being a more cerebral 24, with more emphasis on prevention than countering actual events. This is mostly an accurate comparison.

I like how the series is progressing so far. It looks to me like they are trying to play with two different plot lines which is good, like they'll keep coming back to Lewis's character a lot and the turmoil surrounding his family. I really like Claire Danes all the sudden also and I think Mandy Patikin is perfect for the role he is in.

Renewed for a second season. Yay. I think. Too early to tell

Edit: Okay, starting to like this series more. Hoping this season goes somewhere though.

Well there are a lot of questions now and raised suspicion since....
Spoiler: show
...brody may have slipped that razor blade to that guard who committed suicide. I think they are trying to force something between mike and brody which they really don't need to do at this point.

After this episode I'm guessing that
Spoiler: show
Saul is the one who has been turned. Brody may have been "turned" but my guess is his involvement ended prior to his coming back to the United States (a hand off or some such). Could also be as simple as getting him to be a devout Muslim.
Also what a lucky guy, getting to neck with Claire Danes and Morena Baccarin in the same role.

Watching this show makes me hate NBC for cancelling Life, a previous television program with Damian Lewis starring in it.

I dunno. I hate that it feeds off of the bullshit "American Terrorist" propaganda that the right-wingers want to force down our throats. Also, to me, the premise just seems uninteresting.

Give me something like Walking Dead or Game of Thrones or True Blood any day of the week.

Propaganda? Brody outright gets called an American cheerleader who is going to get kids enlisting because of his bullshit killed. Danes gets reamed for breaking laws while keeping tabs on Brody. The fact that we're getting attacked again and it will likely come from the Middle East is something I would expect the intelligence community to be working on. This isn't like 24 which offered gratuitous violence and justified torture under duress.

Give me something like this over a mediocre love story like True Blood any day.

See, I disagree Shrinweck...
Spoiler: show
Saul I don't think is the mole. He didn't speak up about the polygraph. Brody clearly beat the polygraph. I've had the sneaking suspicion that Saul had been turned as he also met with and touched Amir, but I don't think it is him. I think his relationship falling apart caused him a lot of stress. If you remember he was already in a huff because he wanted to get his mind off of the bomb Meera just dropped on him at home. I doubt this is a cover.
What I did see coming was....
Spoiler: show
Hakim's wife actually being the terrorist and not hakim himself. I kind of had that suspicion when I first saw them
I like how they finally fleshed out Brody's marital problems with him beating the shit out of Mike. I don't like that Brody is now fucking Claire Danes. Does she remind you of Katee Stackoff from BSG? I think either of them could have played this role but Danes is a bit more femine I guess.

Yeah Sine, I'd give this show another chance if you could or just watch a few more episodes. I think they are about to get to some juicy stuff.

I haven't liked the last two episodes or where they're going as much as the majority of series. To make matters worse, the TV calendar website I use had Homeland's finale marked down as last episode and I was excited for some resolution that apparently won't come until December 18th.
