I was reading Gambler Legend Zero and it presented the reader with this scenario. Suppose you had a $10 million windfall (lottery, inheritance, whatever). You're offered to participate in this game where you roll a dice. You lose if you roll a 1 and you double your money for 2-6. You can only roll ONCE. There's no trickery involved. How much should you bet?

Now there's probably no exact answer for this but I'd be surprised if anybody's answer is a number less than $9 million, and yet the characters there are actually talk about how much to bet with values between $2-$3 million, and then Zero went out and said you should bet all of $10 million as if this is some kind of revealation. I mean, the only reason to not go all in is maybe you want to save a $10K to pay for your car's down payment in case you get very unlucky.

This seems to be one of those case where the author is literally dumber than the reader but is trying to sound intelligent. At least, I see no reason for anyone to wager less than $9 million on this kind of favorable odds assuming you don't have any dire finanical stress that requires more than $1 million to resolve.
