I've been at my current job for 3 years now or so and am casually looking around at the market for accountants. I ended up landing a job interview with RIAA, who are headquartered in DC. I love music and I think the environment there could be really cool, but i know so many people who despise this place because of the are the ones behind suing people who share music on Kazaa, Limewire, Napster (back in the day) etc.

However, i've been using Rhapsody for many many years and havent stolen music since probably college, so maybe my beliefs line up. So anyways, i'll go on Tuesday and check it out, but dont hate on me if i end up working for this trade group!

If you take money from the RIAA it's not a bad thing ;-). You're an accountant, you're gonna organize their books, not devise plans to fuck grandmothers who's grandchildren download music when they're at their place and bored out of their skulls just to try to scare the general public who don't see downloading as a bad thing.

Just make sure you keep away from being a part of the evil doings and you'll have no beef with anyone...not here, at least :-)

Just keep your personal life and Internet life separated. You have a common nickname, so keep it that way and keep your name out of it.

I've been a lot more sensitive about my professional/personal separation lately, considering people can easily link my nick with my real life persona. I still post and cuss on this board on the hopes that people don't bother looking around here (and keep the robots.txt file clean), but I still worry about those kind of things.

So much so that I've started to use different nicks to keep the separation. I might end up changing my nick here eventually.

My real name is about as common as it gets, too. Its pretty convenient to basically never worry about being googled. I live in a world of (mostly) anonymity. :P

Fuck I made this name up when I was eight and no one has it and my real name is shared by like one other person in the world.

I need to make a new nick up for all my race hate posting.

I'm amazed the forum didn't run into a run-time error processing Don's post and crashed the servers! :-)

I probably pirate less than anyone here. So little that I actually made a deal with the devil (ie. Rogers) to save $25 a month on my telecommunications bill and live within their cap world (200GB) because it was basically like unlimited to me
