Merry Christmas:

And if you're interested, there's a small documentary about Courtney Love in the spoiler box. I can hardly think of a bigger victim of the media who wasn't a President of the United States.
Spoiler: show

Merry Christmas! I love the Pumpkins. As for Courtney, this may change your mind on the "victim of the media" thing. Her own father is going on the record as saying he believes she deliberately was trying to kill Kurt.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had a book for sale on this soon. Just like the last time he was in the media with these sorts of accusations.

There are two good reasons why I don't trust Hank Harrison's testimony. First, his 30 year long vendetta against Courtney Love might make him a little biased; second, his testimony is non-existent speculation based on faulty deductive reasoning.

He never met or knew Kurt Cobain, or any of Kurt's friends or acquaintances. I don't think he even really knew Courtney; he didn't raise her, she was raised by her stepfather Frank Ramirez - Courtney had previously been taken away from Hank Harrison due to him abusing her as a toddler. It's somewhat unfortunate that he has this platform solely based on being Courtney's biological father and former drug supplier during her childhood (yes, during her childhood).

I do believe Courtney loved Kurt, watching any videos of the two of them together is interesting to see how well they seem to interact; and it's obvious that they spent A LOT of time talking, particularly about really obscure music facts. Kurt was a brilliant artist, but he had his demons. On multiple occasions they manifested as drug overdoses, and his life clung in Courtney's hands many times where he would use heroin to a state which he would describe as "oblivion." If Courtney wanted him dead, she could have just walked away and claimed she didn't know about the situation; no elaborate conspiracy plan needed. Even easier would have been during one of his suicide attempts.

Why did Kurt die? Courtney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, David Geffen, and others staged an intervention for Kurt. Kurt's perception was that all the people closest to him were ganging up on him. His reaction was to isolate himself from all of these people, and he was dead a week later by a gun which Kurt acquired himself. There was a conspiracy, but it was organized by Kurt, and the other participant Dylan Carlson, who unwittingly supplied Kurt with the weapon he would end his life with.

Lastly though - Courtney has been diagnosed with a mental illness, a form of autism; it comes out in her interviews often, she has trouble communicating coherently, or properly responding. The main thing about her autism though is that she has absolutely no filter; if Courtney had anything to do with it, it would have come out a long time ago. I am sure she does feel responsible enough due to (her attempt to help him with) the intervention, but a murder conspiracy accusation from Hank Harrison is just cold.
