With only a $19.1 million take over five days and a budget exceeding $130 million, Final Fantasy is shaping up to be a nice little Squaresoft flop. Oops.

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Doesn't look good for Square; Cats and dogs made more money over the weekend despite being over a week old, and Legally Blonde's weekend gross is greater than FF's total gross.</div>

It's a real shame... but you gotta remember that most of that budget was spent on making the technology needed to make the movie. They can bang out a few more movies in less than a year for a lot less and eventually even out. Not saying that they'll be crap.. just saying that they spent 2 years in production building the technology for it.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>But let's remember, this is one of those rare CG movies that will actually do better in Japan (and elsewhere) than it will in America... and the worldwide gross prolly won't be too shabby.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>A Comedy can beat out a slow paced Sci-Fi movie anyday.</div>

That's cause it's more likely for a person who likes Sci-Fi to like Comedy too than for someone who likes Comedy to like Sci Fi
