If any of your friends say anything about wanting to see a movie called Ghost World, knock them out cold and stomp on their genitals. If that doesn't do the trick, run very, very, very fast.

It's about a girl who just graduated-well, almost-from high school. She grows a bit distant from her best friend, meets a dweebish older guy (played perfectly by Steve Buscemi, who was the only redeeming part of the movie) and just ends up getting into a lot of akward circumstances.

The movie just has no real point, and it's somewhat painful to watch, despite some witty dialouge (mostly from Buscemi's character). Afterwards, I just felt plain bad. Not the kind of bad one feels after seeing a tragic story such as Romeo and Juliet or maybe even Braveheart-just bad.

Here's an unfortunately positive review of the movie. One thing he gets completely wrong is the best friend is "willowy and boyish." As a friend said, if that's boyish, sign me up for homosexuality.

Someone can argue up and down about how well made it was, whatever commentary it made, or how different it is from mainstream movies, but that doesn't change one thing: I felt really bad after watching the movie.
