Norton and Spacey are in my opinion two of the best actors in the buisness right now. Last night was an experience to say the least, I mean, I had seen things about Neo-Nazi's and Racist Hate groups and all that in my U.S. Government class, but it didn't seem real, it didn't bother me, then I watched this movie last night. This movie had this gritty, rough, dirt-under-your-fingernails feel to it. It keeps you guessing toward the end how everything will fall apart even after it seems that Norton's family has hit rock-bottom. If you need a reality check, watch this movie.</div>

Anyone with a shaved head (guys, girls, black, white, asian, hispanic) was supposed to be like a brother or sister. It originally started in Jamaica around the early ska and reggae culture and slowly spread to the UK and America. However, in the UK the working class whites were resentfull of the new carribean blacks who were immigrating to the country and, as they felt, taking their jobs. From this resentment developed racist feelings among the white skinheads which made them a target for recruiters from the "National Front" and other racist/nazi organizations, especially during the horrible recession Britain faced in the late 70's early 80's. After this, the National Front adopted the shaved head as a symbol of "white pride". This symbolism eventually spread to America. The people who still believed in the original Skinhead movement mostly just gave it up as a hopeless cause since in the media skinheads were portrayed as all being racists. The skinheads called these racist fucks "shitheads" and "boneheads" and would try to put a stop to their rallies and what not whenever possible. They've even formed several organizations such as S.H.A.R.P. (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice) to try to combat these racist movements spawned by shitheads as well as to spread the word about what the original skinhead movement was about.

Actually it's pretty much pointless nowadays to try to say this stuff nowadays since the media has played the whole "skinheads are all nazis" thing out so much. Most people don't really give a shit either way. My own personal belief is that only a moron needs to belong to any kind of subculture in order to have an indentity, I believe that if you really want to make a statement, you should be an individual. The only reason I posted this was because I know a few real skinheads out there who are constantly the subject of hatred by people who have only heard the media's stereotype of skinheads... or seen the white-trash actors they have on Jerry Springer who pretend to be skinheads.</div>
