The soundtrack to Chrono Cross is SO MOTHERFUCKINGLY CRYINGLY BEAUTIFUL...I feel like my whole being just wants to cry and exult at the same time.  Just had to say that, thank you, goodnight.  And get the soundtrack.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I don't think it's quite as poignant or varied as CC's, though it's really good. It tends to repeat beats and phrases more than CC...</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>...and that "bum-ba-bum-ba-bum-ba-ba-da-da" from the choose your character screen is everywhere.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Agatha; text-align: left; '>It's a shame that the battle music is arguably one of the worst themes in the history of RPG music. The rest of the soundtrack rocks. I love Magical Dreamers: The Wind, the Stars, and the Sea.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>The FFT soundtrack is quite excellent, but I'd have to say that the CC sountrack has much more emotion in it.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>Dragon God rocks, boss theme is good, battle theme sucks ass, and I forget the rest of it, but it's probably decent.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Yeah, it's gotta be one of the top soundtracks of all time, right up there with CT, FF2, FF3 and such</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>Squaresoft doesn't do good battle music most of the time (except for FFT). Oddly enough, next to FFT, I find Suikoden's battle music to be the best I've heard so far. (Not really counting SS's glorified final boss themes...)</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>I have it, but unfortunately, I can't listen to much of it, because my PSX and copy of CC got stolen (by the fucking maintence people, I'm sure) before I got a chance to play it much. I really miss my PSX and all of its excellent games...</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>However, I still think that Squaresoft can't top most of Konami's musician staff.</div>

I don't think anybody is doing good battle music anymore really.

<div style='font: 14pt Agatha; text-align: left; '>Maybe it's nostalgia speaking (and it probably is), but I can't think of a really good battle theme since the death of the SNES. Konami does good music, but their battle music doesn't really impress me much either. Castlevania has incredible music (with the exception of those failed abortions that were the N64 versions), but that's not battle music exactly.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Their top ones are up there with Konami's best IMO. CC is one of the best overall STs I've ever heard</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>I thought Laguna's battle theme in FF VIII wasn't too bad. One of the few things I liked about the game, actually.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Agatha; text-align: left; '>Okay, point. I always forget about Laguna's battle theme because I've tried to scrub memories of FF8 out of my head.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I thought PDS has great battle music. My fav is still probably FF2. And the Castlevanias for N64 might not have been good games, but they did have great music, especially the opening violin theme of the first one</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Agatha; text-align: left; '>Um. No. The N64 Castlevanias had an occasional good tune, but overall were an embarassment to the franchise from a musical standpoint.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Symphony, yes. In terms of music only, the N64 ones are about as equal as the other games</div>

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Agreed. I think they're more consistent in the quality dept., and their arrangements are just so headbangingly good.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>Again, anything Konami touches is gold. All of Konami's RPGs had at least "good" battle music. Nothing sucked.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Agatha; text-align: left; '>Hardly. The battle themes in Suikoden were average. They weren't great. Just ordinary.</div>
