Oh, and there's a new trailor up for Drumline.</div>

lol, there are no drum offs because there's only 1 marching band on a field at a time...

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>except for an incident about 5 years ago in Texas where the marching bands got so riled up about the football game that at one point they charged each other and had a brawl on the field...

picture a trumpet player using his instrument as a club..*wince* Glad I was a sousaphone player :)</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>So you've never seen or hear of the battle of the bands down here in New Orleans for the Bayou Classic? Grambling University is one of the bands shown in that trailor for the showdown, and they perform in the battle of the bands every year.</div>

ohh good god...

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>see what kind of a DIFFERENCE a decent trailer makes?! NOW I want to see this movie. The first one was crap compared to this one-- it actually focuses on, well, what the movie's about! While I think they still hype the marching band tradition a little too much...even though this is college it's not that hyped. Penn State's Beaver Stadium holds 110,000 people (and it's always at least at 100,000people) and people don't get That riled up (hell we're talking in the middle of Pennsylvania where the nearest pro football team is 3 1/2 hours in either direction-- these people live eat and breathe PSU football) for a marching band. I still think they are obviously trying to gain the black teen audience too (the fact that the event is sponsored by BET shows that) but now I can at least see that they do in fact admit that there's more to a marching band than the drumline. I will see this movie now because my gripes with it were fabricated by that poorly done first trailer; this one shows what the movie's about which is a drumline/marching band, not just a black teen culture movie.

-- not what you were expecting me to say? ;)</div>

Me --> North Eastern High School football / marching band tournaments.  Them--> Southern College tournaments.

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>So no, I haven't...but it sounds real cool as long as more than just the drumline face off.

What I would give to see a sousaphone-off :P 20 sousas on either end bringing down the house..*drool*</div>

ohh, and

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>I Love the guy who's playing the band director-- I forget his name.

"Hit 'em with a bit of flight of the bumble bee" ROFLOL, only a bando would find that hillarious :P Of course having your entire band play that thing together is damn near impossibly hard.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>If I didn't think, you'd like the 2nd trailor, I wouldn't have posted it. BET, covers the Bayou Classic & Battle of the Bands as well. This movie is going for the Battle of the Bands feel, you really have to see Southern and Grambling go at it to appriciate it.</div>
