Oh thank god...2 movies I loved (SW: Ep2 & Spiderman) were almost ruined had DiCapreo not turned down the leading roles in both

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Um, no. He was DiFaggio LONG before Titanic. Gilbert Grape (the 1/2 hour I saw) was one of his few actual acting roles. It's not that I don't like the movies he's been in (Romeo+Juliet, Titanic), I just can't stand him. I cheered when he died in Quick and the Dead</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>No, it's because he's a one-dimensional actor who bring nothing to the roles he plays and is highly dependant on the script and supporting actors(kinda like Keanu Reeves).....AND he's the ultimate 13-year-old girl heartthrob. THAT's the icing on the no-talent cake</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>Eh, I think they pretty much all did. The original trilogy had the saving graces of Ford, Guiness, and Jones, but Mark Hammill is just as big a tool as Christiansen. SW is a cool series, but let's face it, it's no Hamlet at the Globe.</div>

Watch Empire and Jedi again. It's not Shakespeare, but the writing is much better. As is the directing.

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Also notice that Lucas did not direct Empire and Jedi, he did not write Empire, and he only co-wrote Jedi. The man has great ideas, but he's not good at implementing them himself. He also doesn't serve well as his own editor.

You also forgot Carrie Fisher - and don't downplay Fisher and Ford. They took up a lot of screen time, a lot of it with each other. They did a very good job. That would be the equivalent of Christiansen and Portman actually doing good jobs. Episode II has three very good actors - Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Lee. Jackson did a bad job. McGregor was "Eh." Lee did a good job. (I'm not including Portman in there because I've only seen her as a child actress outside of Star Wars.)</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>Yeah, I think it's probably the writing more than the acting that detracts from Episode II. None of the characters are really given a chance to stand out and give good performances. I still enjoyed it though.</div>
