Just watched Blade Runner again...

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>I'm still confused by a few things, though. Was Deckard supposed to be a replicant? What about Gaff (his partner)? I swore we had this conversation before, but I forgot. (Actually, looking at the forums on IMDb makes it even <a href="http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0083658/boar ... 5531">more confusing</a>.) Also, I didn't know that Ridley Scott did Legend, which makes sense, because I was commenting on how Vangelis (who did the music for Blade Runner) sounds a lot like Tangerine Dream (who did the music for Legend).

Also, we saw Brazil again. Another mind-bender. You can tell it's a first movie, but it still has that eerie 1984-esque quality to it. Did you know that Gilliam never even read 1984? I find that odd considering the similarities with the movie.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>There was a lot of talk that Deckard was a replicant. I used to know a site that argued that he was. Gaff definitely wasn't though.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Bah, the directors cut is a crock. I had to get a bootleg of the the original at a convention.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>There was one scene where the chick asks Deckard whether he's taking the test or not. That sorta raised my suspections.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>There was always supposed to be ambiguity about Deckard. The Director's Cut doesn't help much with that. But that's one of the charms of the film, considering what he was fighting for</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Try and watch both the regular and Director's Cut. The regular is much better (you'll know where they got the idea for Under a Killing Moon from), but the DC will make the idea of Deckard even more ambiguous</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I only have the DC too, but the original had the narration, which really gave the film the 50's PI feel, much like Under a Killing Moon (the game HAD to be inspired by the film). It's MUCH better for atmosphere</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "Fine Hand"; text-align: left; '>I can't find a non-Director's cut. The narration gave so much more information, especially about the mixed language the street people spoke.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "Fine Hand"; text-align: left; '>Wish me luck trying to find the original Criterian release of 1983's Blade Runner. I have the DC version of Blade Runner. I miss Decard's phylosophical thoughts after he got owned by Rutger Hauer.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Yeah, Ridley got rid of them years ago. I can probably get one from a local movie store which has tons of old shit, but they're impossible to find. That's why we need a new DVD with both and they've been talking about that for a while now</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Isn't the original the one where, at the studio's behest, the ending was changed so that Harrison Ford talked over extra footage of the mansion from The Shining?</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Yeah, I think that was the big thing, that the DC is the vision of the film that Ridley had and it took him years to get it out. I just want a double-dip DVD with both versions of it, let me fucking choose which one is best. That's what Speilberg did for ET</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>Didn't he butcher ET for the 20th anny version?</div>
