<div style='font: ; text-align: left; '>It's the action itself - Neo spinning around like a top on a pole and such - that make it seem so fakey. Once you get everything moving that fast and with activity that's so impossible it's never going to look "real" no matter how hard you try. I can appreciate what's been done here in terms of the leap in special effects that's above and beyond anything else being done right now enough that I'll forgive an obviously "cartoony" feel to some of the action scenes.

It seems like I had an article that explained what was done for the special effects in Matrix 2 but I can't find it anymore. If I can find it again I'll post a link - it's really cool. Some new technique of mapping out actual film and photograph into CG without using the usual textures that make them look so immediately fake. Even most of the backgrounds in Matrix 2 are supposed to be computer constructed. I find that pretty damn impressive.
