<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Well, either you've seen so many plots that it's old hat, or you missed the philisophical angle about existance. Or you just don't give a damn about the philosophical angle. Short of the action scenes, fanboy scenes, and quality animation, it's all about the question of existance and conciousness.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>Yeah, I didn't like the anime much either. I think it was liked mainly because it was a high-end production by Mamoru Oshii (who I guess is a famous director). The manga is infinitely superior</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "Fine Hand"; text-align: left; '>For it's time and for the general non-anime people, it was great. Siskel had it as one of his top 10 DVD picks about 6 years ago.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Typical of Oshii's work, it's a good film during the first and last fifteen minutes, but not so much inbetween. The final action sequence with the heroine and the tank is really good, though.</div>
