It's just a damn good thing that this game doesn't rely on a lot of plot for its enjoyment. As a movie though it seems he will be focussing on the events leading up to the first Metroid game, and quite a bit on the politics of the Galaxy during the pre-game time. I just don't see how this movie can be done without some huge spending though. Either way, I'm a metroid fan, and I'd love to see how this actually turns out. Samus seems like the type of character who would actually fit into the context of the types of characters that Woo likes to put on screen; just look at Windtalkers, it's ridiculous that Nick Cage survived for 5 minutes in that movie with the crap he was pulling off, let alone the duration of it. MI2 and Broken Arrow are really the only other two movies I can think of off hand, both of them were fairly good; though I wish someone other than Travolta was caste for the villain, he's just too goofy to play a villain =P</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Don't get too excited. The article doesn't say he's going to direct. What he probably did was option the film. That could mean any number of things.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>There is such thing as "suspended belief", one of the cornerstones of films. You can outthink yourself out of a LOT of movies. Get past it, and it's a great flik</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I agree for Mission Impossible; the second movie was just too different from the first. But for Metroid, I wouldn't expect much more than his style of film, and Samus would actually fit into the John Woo ridiculously unkillable hero role (Unlike Cruise's or Cage's characters)</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Yeah, I like the Brian De Palma one better, too. It doesn't help that John Woo seems to be getting more and more pedestrian these days.</div>
