The entire planet was divided between two opposing alliances.
After fifty years of bitter warfare,
the Greater Eastern Federation triumphs over

Years of chemical, biological and nuclear war have poisoned the land and
left an exhausted population at the mercy of every pestilence and newly-mutated disease.

One man comes forward with a possible solution.

Dr. Azuma is a geneticist who proposes a "neo-cell" treatment that
can rejuvenate the body and regenerate humankind.
He's driven in his studies by a desire to save his beloved wife, Midori,
from the ravages of pollution-related disease.

He appeals for funding to the government
but the politicians in the Health Ministry turn him down,
fearing that the new technology will threaten their entrenched powers.

However, a sinister faction in the powerful military makes
a secret offer to provide the support he needs to further his research.

When an incident occurs in the lab that sends
the Professor's "neo-cell" cloning experiment haywire,
a race of mutant human beings (Shinzo Ningen) is unleashed upon the world.

Instead of being the savior of mankind,
the Professor's miraculous technology looks set to threaten its very existence...</div>

I only prefer subs when the dubs are horribely butchered to apease 5 year old American children, a la Yugioh, Escaflowne, DBZ(early on), Sailor Moon(yes, it was butchered). If the dialog in on point, I usually don't mind. I even like Gundam Seed's dub after a 2nd look.</div>

It's just that the voice wasn't supposed to be your standard fare villian voice, since that didn't fit the definition of his complex character.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>I go there for the cool accurate news, as opposed to the reviews which are suspect. Unlike Gamepro, which is just all around crappy.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>If it's not squeeky and screetchy, its often very forced and makes you just want to laugh at it more than anything. It's not just a few Japanese movies and games that have these problems, it's almost all of them. There is very very little variety involved in how they speak, and they don't seem to change over time; you can't pick out one actor from another.

Also, I am probably speaking from by far the least anglo-centric view of anyone here at the Shrine as everyone here currently is from North America, and I assume only speak one language fluently, I speak 3 languages (I am most comfortable with Swedish and English, but essentially know the entire Norwegean language as well), and know enough to get by in 8 total (Dutch, French, Japanese, Danish, and German in addition to the other 3). Furthermore, I know prhases and words in about a dozen other languages in addition to the 8 (Czech, Finnish, Hebrew, Newfouneze, Punjabi, Greek, Italian, Latin, Mandarin, Russian, etc....). I am noit some language nut either, it's more about my upbringing, I grew up in a trilingual family (my immediate family was bilingual, Swedish and English) and the place where I grew up in was Toronto where essentially everyone I knew did speak English in public, but had a different language to speak at home.</div>

It seems like you can tell which country selects the voices for English dubbing by the quality of the dub. If it's a bad dub with typecasted voices, it's probably a Japanese dubbing company selecting the voices.</div>

However, they get the occasional news tidbit that makes it worth stopping by for a 1 minute or so everyday...</div>
