Saw two movies this weekend: RE2, very fun movie, everyone should enjoy it. The Forgotten, it wasn't a comedy, but I laughed all the way through it; fairly good movie.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Resident Evil 2, the first one was absolute crap, this one more than makes up for it. They should have actually just avoided the first one altogether and just integrated the plot as a flashback scene that lasted a few minutes at the beginning. Watching the first one is not necessary and not recommended. In short, the plot is going on at about the same time as Resident Evil 2 and 3 but can be seen as being somewhat independent of the game story. It surrounds multiple groups of people in multiple locations. As a fan of the game series, I am quite happy to see this come to the screen and I can't wait for the third. Overall, it was a VERY fun movie. Not recommended for geeks (since I saw some fat fucking morons complaining afterwards).

The Forgotten, also a movie that was fun. I was just taken to see it, tickets were bought, I didn't know a thing about it, even the title and I didn't even bother looking at the ticket to check as it was handed to me and we passed into the theatre. It is kind of like the Sixth Sense, you'll guess the entire movie plot in the first ten minutes if you have half a brain in your head, well I was wrong on one aspect (at one point I predicted two of the characters would hook up, that didn't happen). Anyways, I found this one to be somewhat better than the sixth sense (which turned out to be boring), this one had a lot more humour involved (even if unintended). Definately worth a watch, if you are a loser with no sense of humour, then you probably won't enjoy it.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>The first one was pretty good, that's why they made the second. And The Forgotten is supposed to be a big let down after the start, at least according to a lot of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>No, they made a 2nd because it makes easy money, unless you wanna argue that the 2nd Tomb Raider was also a "good movie".</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>They were already working on the second before the first was released, and they are working on a third as well. As for the Forgotten, how is it a let down? Was it anticipated? I hadn't even heard of it before. I thought it was a fun movie.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Nah, Tomb Raider sucked and the sequel sold about half the original. On the other hand, RE2 is a really fun movie and has already outsold the first one.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>The second wasn't approved 'til after the first one made the money back. Of course they've got ideas for a sequel, but nothing gets done on a series unless the first is good....or it's LotR</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Morbid curiousity will make people see those movies. All you need is a decent preview and you've got 20Mil, BANK. Tomb Raider, RE, Mortal Kombat, follow these forumlas. One look at Street Fighter and/or Mario Brothers and you can see the budget is $12.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Considering how much they probley used to make those movies they probley still managed to make a profit somehow. Are you seriously gonna argue that video game movies get sequals because they're actually good? Do you know how many good movies never got sequals?</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Fine, I consider it to be a fun movie, you consider it to be trash. In the end, this is how it is: those like me paid for a movie they enjoyed, while those like you wasted their money and time on a movie they consider trash. Nice going =)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>No, what I'm saying is that video game movies are under much more scrunity than normal films due to the audience, hence quality is more closely tied to box office</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>Comic book movies get a HELL of a lot more scrunity than anything else, and lo and behold, the fuckers at Hollywood actually got their head out of their asses and made some good movies. Video game movies, OTOH, are still lost in the same limbo that comic book movies were at about 5-10 years ago.

For example, the new Doom movie. Granted, it's not exactly a Shakespearian story, but regardless of the base material, it's going to suck. Why? Because they start out with some shitty director. Andrzej Bartkowiak, besides having a fucking unpronounceable name, has directed the following piece of shit movies: Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave. This movie is DooMed from the start.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave? I liked those movies, they were action, and DMX was in them, lol. Fuck it, nobody can win this arguement, RE was a shitty movie in my eyes, and good in Zeus and Seeker's I'll leave it at that. See Seek's post below.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I do agree that comic books are probably under even more scrunity due to the excess in material versus video game movies and their rabid fan bases. No arguments here, but video game movies are under much more scrunity than other films (aside from comic book ones)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm just saying that, IMO, good video game movies (and even comic book movies, sans Daredevil) tend to be successful and bad ones get shut out. There's a pretty close correlation, particularly compared to other Hollywood films (see Pearl Harbor)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Respect isn't there yet like it is with comic books. You can thank the crop of new directors and Arad for forcing it upon Hollywood. It'll take a while before games reach that point</div>
