Team America sucked...

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Bah, what is wrong with you all? Quit giving out shitty recommendations.

Anyway, TA ultimately failed because it didn't achieve any level of sophistication or intelligence in its few attempts at humor/parody. And I don't think I was expecting much. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut was pretty brilliant, that would have been an unfair comparison. On the other hand, Team America barely achieved the entertainment value of the most poorly written 'episodes' of South Park...

"Suck my Balls". "Suck my Cock". "Pussies, Assholes and Dicks". Yes, comedy at its laziest. No clever political satire here, just shallow characters, poor writers and naughty words. The only redeeming quality in this film is a sex scene that can't be described....only witnessed. And I suppose a clip between puppets without genitals that could make Ron Jeremy blush is unique enough to warrant your interest; it's not enough to warrant your money.

Do the right thing and download or rent.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I just saw it tonight, for free, but yeah it was really stupid and I'm fairly open minded on movies.</div>

On some levels, I agree with you, and on others, I don't.

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>I hated the musicals in SP:BLU, but ironically, most of the music that was in TA was brilliant. I mean, jesus, I just want to play that "America...Fuck Yeah!" song over and over again as loud as I can. The Kim Jon song was stupid, and back to the standards that SP:BLU was about. But, most of the music was in some respects funnier than the movie itself.

There was a lot of dick jokes throughout, going back to the comedy of their Orgasmo days. It was that kind of movie, which I agree that I like less than the South Park brand of comedy. It's when you can mix the two, you can come up with episodes like the "it" episode, the funniest piece of humor of all-time. (Think airports, gyroscopes, and insertions. Yeah, that episode.) The comedy was so-so in its intelligence, but there was a lot of great moments. It didn't really suck at all, but it didn't make me laugh out loud until that damn song popped up.

I thought it was funny that the entire underlying theme was their seemly obvious attitude: the "perfect" disguise (which showed how little they knew of the culture), or the fact that every time they were rescuing a place from terrorists they would totally dissemate it. That was some of the more intelligent parts of the movie.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Basically, I'd say if you're a fan of South Park you'll like Team America. If you think SP is childish, annoying crap, then you'll feel the same about TA.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>The dick, asshole, pussy analogy was pretty smart. As was the movie taken as a whole when compared to popular action movies... they had the unlikely hero, the love triange, the angry side character who has a sad past, etc etc. I think the movie was good when you step back from it and take it all in like that.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>They actually wanted the whole movie to mimic a Jerry Fuckheimer film.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>Another 'broader picture' thing that is funny is the fact that the actor was so important to the team. "They were defenseless without an actor!" Spottswood says when the team got shot down, lol, funny stuff.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>Yeah, Parker & Stones hatred of celebrity actors also played a big part in the film</div>
