I have to say, if Jamie Foxx doesn't get an Oscar for this, then I think the academy is wronging the actors that are truely talented. Reason being, several low budget films like Garden State and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind have been shafted, and other films that have been shafted prior like 25th Hour which Ed Norton should have recieved a Best Actor nom at least.
Ray was an excellent flick, I even watched it with the extended version on the DVD and I absolutely found it a nessecity. Foxx did an excellent job and the woman that played his mother in the flashback scenes definitely did an excellent job as well even though I don't think she could be nominated a supporting actress, she did an excellent job.
