Would I be ostracized if I ventured the opinion that Vanilla Ice's "Play That Funky Music" was a good song? 
Yeah. It was a total ripoff of Wild Cherry's version. I say ripoff in the same way that Pee Diddy's "I'll Be Missing You" was a total ripoff of The Police version. (I don't think I'll ever forgive Sting for allowing that to happen, and then singing it WITH HIM!)
BTW, The Police kick ass.
