I'm a Resident Evil fan, both of them, and Mortal Kombat wasn't that bad either (the first). But man, have the others just been baaaaaad. I hope the Silent Hill and Metal Gear ones end up good, they have a ton of potential.

Sorry, nothing official yet, but if I remember correctly, they've commissioned the script to be written. I should have been more clear on that. I believe that's where the Silent Hill movie stands as well. I just think they're a lock based on the types of stories and the fanbase each has (and Kojima's desire to make movies).

Both would be rather easy to make into films, I think, as long as they don't try to change them. The video in the games set themselves up quite well to be translated well into a movie.

As lame a movie as Wizard was, it was the best promotional campaign ever for a game and made Mario 3 the highest grossing game of all time (over $770 million worldwide....that's freakin' crazy).

That's a somewhat interesting point.

Well, yeah, I imagine they would. And I don't think the supernatural enemies would go over well in a movie setting with the mass market. They'd probably massively cut down on the number of enemies as well, you can't really have 9 enemies to worry about in a 2 hour film. I think if they did the origin story (MGS3), you'd probably have none of the Cobras in there. Ocelot, Volgin, and the Boss are enough for a shorter film. And they'd probably take the lightning stuff out of him. Eva would be kept as the love interest.

I would hope they'd try and do the com conversations somewhat. They're quite cool in the game and could be done properly if not overused and the people didn't spill their life stories out.

Heh, don't forgot about the Doom movie, featuring The Rock :P
