Zzzzzzz, says I.

Yes, it looks great, but I doubt I'll pick it up unless I hear the plot is significantly better than I'm expecting. I saw Spirits Within, and it was moderately amusing, but the plot pretty much blew.

I'm very meh on Square plotlines these days. I've noticed they either seem to fall into the Saturday morning cartoon category, the "what the incredible, blistering fuck was that" category, or both.

On a slight but distantly related tangent, will someone - anyone - try to make sense of the ending to FFI for me? Even accepting the near-certainty of a bad translation, I'm still trying to figure this out if this ever had a shot on making any sense to anyone, in any language, ever. It's been about fifteen years now.
Hironobu Sakaguchi and a really terrible translator, quite possibly with the aid of various inhaled household cleaning products, wrote:"The Time-Loop is now broken! The 2000 year long battle is over. Peace prevails.

Control of the four elements, the Earth, the Wind, the Fire, and the Water, again belongs to the earth.

Garland's hatred burned for 2000 years. That hatred led the Four Powers to this world.

CHAOS was created from those Four.

Evil dominated the world and covered it in darkness.

But, it is over now, wrong has been set right!!

The LIGHT WARRIORS are returning.... As they travel in time, the world returns to normal.

Sara and Jane wait for them.... Of course, Garland does too.

But, when did it ever happen?....

Everything went mad in a day. The reason lies in the 2000 year Time-Loop.

The Four chose to become one force, and fight against the four evil forces that set darkness upon the world.

When the Four return, it will be to their past. All signs of the battle with the Forces will be erased.

But the legend will live on. Passed down by the Dwarves, the Elves, and the Dragons....

Passed on by peoples unsure where the story came from.

The LIGHT WARRIORS return from their journey back in time 2000 years.

The memories stored deep in their hearts will protect the world.

Never forget the good and true....

Never turn the Four Powers to the dark side....

And truth will always live in the hearts of the people.

The Warrior who broke the 2000 year Time-Loop is truly a LIGHT WARRIOR.... That warrior was YOU!

May the ORBS always shine!!...."

My thoughts exactly :-)

If it's good enough, I may pick it up. And since Square doesn't have to worry about the troublesome "gameplay" elements, should be good. :-)

Yes, I liked the FF movie.......

The problem was they tried to get away with a RPG-calibre plot in an actual movie. It didn't really work. FF:AC will be building off of a world that is already explained, so much of the story is already there.

Plus, they will actually be using their technology the way they SHOULD have been using it: fantastic fight scenes! People demand a CG 90 minute fight Matrix fight scene :)
