  • Canada, FUCK YEAH!

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

I love how rumors as to why that guy got fired turned into fact in a matter of days without any new proof being presented anywhere. Sure it looks extremely shady and is pretty possibly true; but everyone's just jumped on the bandwagon of hate without any fact to back of this up.

Heh, are you waiting for an official statement from Gamespot as to what's happened? They've offered one and it is typical PR-flack garbage.

There is no smoking gun, but there are a lot of deeply unhappy Gamespot staff members that have spoken out on what's happened. I'm more inclined to trust them than management.

May have also had something to do with pressure from SCEA for the R&C:ToD review.

I don't think it has much to do with any one game in particular — I think Cnet management wanted a cultural change at Gamespot, and Gerstmann fostered a culture that their marketing department found hostile.

They've got a culture change, that's for damn sure, heh. They've destroyed the morale of their editorial department and ruined Gamespot's reputation. They really should have just launched a new site, rather than attempt to reposition Gamespot. Gamespot have been a harsh consumer review guide forever.

Harsh? By Gerstmann: Zelda got an 8.8/8.9 and Bioshock got a 9.0.... The lowest scores for each of the games. Then again, he scored Wario Ware: Smooth Moves a 9.2 which was the highest score for that game.

I think he just looks for something different in games than other reviewers do.

Every month someone is about to deal a fatal blow to the videogame industry.

Fatal? No, just more restrictive than other forms of media.

You'll see. With Hilary and Lieberman running together and having a decent shot with no decent Republican opposition to overcome Bush 2: Bush Harder, it'll get fast-tracked

Nothing is going to eliminate the videogame market short of nuclear war.
