What!? For serious? :)

But, and I haven't looked more into it, how do they come up with the data? Surveys?

When is someone considered a gamer? At what point do males consider themselves gamers? At what point do WOMEN consider themselves gamers? Is an hour a day of Facebook games considered gaming, or is it 20+ hours a week of console games?

I think these days it's cool to be viewed as a nerd or gamer, and women tend to embellish themselves and their likes and dislikes to look cool, especially to the opposite sex.

Also, which is more likely to take surveys...or spend time on the internet taking surveys rather than gaming? :)

94 percent of parents are present when games are purchased or rented; --- That they know of....

I don't think its neccessarily cool to be a nerd (unless you're one of those Mac people) I think it's more along the lines that things that were once considered "nerdy" (comic books and video games) are now gaining popular, mainstream acceptance, and the lines between nerd and non-nerd are being blurred some.
