This is a TGS season thing. The purpose of this press conference is to announce new products. This might be the next handheld system that has been rumoured.

A new Mario and Zelda title were announced by Miyamoto around GC, but no other info was given. It is possible that these products may also come to light since the new Zelda is 2 years into development.

Actually, it looks like Nintendo is holding two press events at the same time in Japan and the US between October 2nd and 3rd based on info posted by IGN

Alright, it looks like this could be a fairly big thing. I think the chances for a next gen DS or Gameboy being announced are very high.

They will likely address the storage issue as well, perhaps with a solution. It would be nice if they would unveil their new online plan here as well.
