MY HEART

"We're Making RPG Now!"

Hahaha! Awesome. Announcement on the 26th, apparently. Valkyria Chronicles sounds to have been a good start. Skies 2, please!

If they would make Skies 2, I wouldn't need another RPG for over a year (because I would play it at least twice in a row). Assuming they can match the same sort of thing they did in the first game.

Reiko of Altered Beast fame? (j/k) And Yuzo did Actraiser, Sonic, and Shenmue, but none of those soundtracks really stuck out for me.

Actraiser had a phenomenal soundtrack particularly as a SNES launch title. Go back and listen to it sometime it was a great symphonic-sounding MIDI soundtrack that blew everything away.

I did. I have access to all kinds of VGSTs. I guess it sounds kinda dated. The "Actraiser Symphonic Suite" is pretty good, though.

However, Sakimoto/Iwata still remains to be much better at the symphonic sound. Everybody remembers FFT, but they also did some fantastic work with Odin Sphere.

Sonic was done by Masato Nakamura, and I find they are some of the most memorable tunes in any game. Speaking of Sonic, there is rumour that Michael Jackson actually worked with Nakamura on the title.

It's definitely a bit dated now but for 1991 it was the shit. And the fact that the Symphonic Suite sounds great shows that the tunes are pretty good just in MIDI symphonic originally due to the times.
