  • Stardock issues the "Gamers Bill of Rights"

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Pretty cool in its own respect, it is true that the PC gaming industry needs to set some standards if they are to survive. I think they could do better than this, but it's a good start. I've always loved Stardock's method of post-release: Release meaningful patches/updates that add value to the game. They don't worry about DRM because you can't get those updates without having a legit copy.

The CEO of Stardock talked about this to G4 during PAX, video below

Gamers shall have the right to demand that download managers and updaters not force themselves to run or be forced to load in order to play a game.

So much for MMOs throwing their support on this.

I don't think this is really for MMO's. They're the one genre keeping the platform alive. This Bill of Rights seems mostly tuned towards games that at least have a single player component to it.
