That's nearly $200 more than I would spend on a video card in good conscience, but if you've got the money to burn... Wait, on the other hand three stars out of five? I would definitely never buy a video card for that much money with any less than 4-4.5. WAY, WAY too many recent bad reviews about death on arrival and RMA issues. Stay away. Gigabyte is on it for replying to the poor reviews in full force and gets bonus points for being a company that I would consider shopping from in the future, but they've clearly shit the bed with this specific product in the past few months.

I try to stay out of those arguments, but, yeah, I'm probably never going to buy an ATI card. I almost got one for free that would have been an upgrade and I probably wouldn't have used it. I had a laptop that included an ATI video card at one point and the trouble I had getting the damn drivers to work.. seriously fuck them. Lost my business forever. Never had any problems popping in an nVidia card and getting the drivers going. Not once.

I've used both AMD/ATI and NVidia cards, haven't had issues with either brand. No, I don't give a fuck about Linux drivers.

Currently still using a 7870, never had an issue.
