<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>- Completely revamped trade system, it is now an integral part of the game as you need certain rresources to move on, expand military, please your populations, etc..
- EXTREMELY advanced Diplomatic system, the new one completely blows anything Civilization or Allpha Centauri had away, witht he new bargaining tables, all sorts of new pacts, like trade boycotts, right of passage, Mutual Aggression pacts against certain Alliances, etc...
- 16 Civilizations at once (from 7 in Civilization 2) all very unique n their cultures and units.
- Generals, they haven't dsclosed all the features, but a General can stack units, example 3 Legions makes a Legion with 3 times as much hitpoints or something. There are also a lot of other tasks generals can fufill, only one stacked army per 4 cities I think (can be changed in editor if you wish, like most features)
- The map size has a max of 256 X 256 (from 100 x 100 in Civ 2), now you can actually play a world map and have more than one or two civs thrive in Europe if playing a world map
- New Culture system, responsible for widening your borders
- Colonies, like towns, but don't have upkeep costs, and can't perform some functions towns can, but are helpful for securing areas and resources. Not much has been said about these yet
- Golden age, will give you bonuses for 20 turns of play
- Many Unique units one for each civilization (can be changed in editor)
- Wonders and the new minor wonders (Wonders that can be built once certain conditions have been reached, like, number of cities, population, etc... Also some wonders and minor wonders require a certain type of government to build)
- VERY customizable compared to previous games
- Many new Historical recording factors, events, etc... Much more realistic play
- The game goes to 2050, the winner is determined by the OVERALL AVERAGE of the civs history, and not just the final outcome in this case.
This game looks to be the coming of the most compelling Strategy game in history. The graphics are also very nice to look at, as I assume the sound and music will be (Fully customizable too). Master of Orion III, can only hold a candle to this baby.
I smell best game of the year.</div>
