I finally got past Queens of the Stone Age on Expert. Bastards exposed my main weakness in the game: crazy chords. I just can't go up and down the neck of the guitar doin' chords all ove the place, I lose the orientation of my fingers on the frets.
So, I finally got past it and promptly beat the next three (I love playin' Texas Flood, what a fun song). So, now I'm stuck on the madness that is Pantera (Cowboys from Hell) and Ozzy (Bark at the Moon); the last two songs in the game. Pantera kicks your ass right from the beginning. I was finally able to get past it a couple of times (52% is my best so far), but it ain't easy. Man, that's a hard part to get through right at the beginning. And that solo in the middle of Bark at the Moon is madness and freakin' long. As if the rest of the freakin' song ain't hard, but I got used to a lot of it when I got stuck on it on Hard. All I had to do was add a few chords here and there. I just about got through it (63%) so I'm hoping I'll be able to crack that one soon, which should allow me to get past the song. And be the ultimate Guitar Hero :-)
As you can tell, at this stage, I don't really care about stars (I've only bothered to get 4 stars on 3 of the songs), I'm just trying to get through them. I really wish there was a practice mode in the game where you can just play the song without it ending when your bar hits the bottom of the red. The game is hard enough on Expert that the mode would be quite useful to help people practice the really tough solos and parts rather than having to go through the hassle of having the game end every time you can't do it.
