The Nintendo DS, ideas: no actual upcoming game related info

This is obviously going to be a HUGELY popular little machine, it's cheap, it certainly has the games and price point going for it, it'll soon have a ton of other little additions (such as a web browser). What I am wondering though, is why Nintendo, or some other company, has not yet tried testing out the DS market for literary releases? I got the idea from the literature section of Brain Age: I am thinking, wouldn't it be something to have books like Lord of the Rings, Brave New World, 1984, To Kill a Mocking Bird, and other classics available for purchase on the Nintendo DS? Things could be made so easily as well, for example, in Lord of the Rings, if you need to remember details about Aragorn which have already been stated, you could touch his name, and enter into the glossary section immediately; a summary could be written on what we know about Aragorn so far in the story. The development for such a product would not take long either, there are no further graphical or writing details that need to be worried about, it is just a matter of converting the text to DS format, and going through it and adding in all the extras. It would be even cheaper to reproduce as well, a little DS card would cost significantly less than 1000+ pages printed.

I do know that they have encyclopedias and dictionaries in development in Japan. I would certainly buy into it if they moved over to literature as well.

eBooks have never been well received... Pretty much all Palm's and Blackberry's have this feature (which would make sense as a great add on to their intended uses, too), but they just never have seemed to become popular.

I like the idea, though.
