Most of you were pretty quiet about it.

Midway through the video was actual gameplay. O_o

That's because the game looked like another one of those Japanese targeted Xbox 360 Action titles that they've been showing at Magicbox for the past year.
From what I hear, the development team is some new rookie team. Matsuno is not working on the title, he's probably going right to FF14 or a new FFT game. Perhaps even Ogre Battle. No Sakimoto either, I saw the composers for the title, two of them, and I had never heard of either of them before.

I'm a little over Final Fantasy. X just let me down so much...I didn't really go to the Squeenix booth this year even.

Final Fantasy 12 looks like an excellent game though. I did feel Final Fantasy 10 was rather simplistic and linear in a lot of ways compared to other Final Fantasy titles, but it does not seem to be the case with 12 at all. Final Fantasy 12 looks like the true successor for the series, the first in what will be more than five years.
I mean, Final Fantasy 10 was a good game in my opinion, but it was just too confined for a Final Fantasy game, it seemed like Square took a step in the wrong direction. Final Fantasy 10's battle system, the actual turn-based mechanic was great, I really enjoyed it more so than most other RPGs I have ever played.
Yeah, Final Fantasy 11 is just a forbidden number. FF13, I have no high hopes for, so I am not going to worry about it.

After the disappointment of FF7, I've been down on the series. I didn't even play 8 yet (seems to be love it or hate it type game) and I adored FF9, but EVERYONE I know who played 10 was disappointed, so I just really don't care anymore

Waaa?...
FF is still going strong in my mind. I really like the latest incarnations; 7,8, and 10. Twelve looks like it is going to kick some major ass, but i guess i wasnt too impressed with the 13 trailor. Not a huge fan of too much sci-fi, which is why it reminds me of *shudder* Spirits Within.
Linear is cool with me, ten had a great set of characters, battle system, and story.

You guys are crazy! X was awesome, and probably my favourite of the series.
I'm prime for 12 (big Matsuno fanboy here), but ambivalent about 13.

FFX was good. The battle system was well done. The story was pretty interesting. The characters were likeable, though not loveable, imo.
Overall, it was a good addition to the series. I wasn't addicted to it like a few people I know though.

Yeah, X kicked mucho ass, definetly my favorite of the series so far. Zeus if you want disappointment try playing X-2, that game's got disappointment coming out every corner. Anyhow, looking forward to XII, kind of wish there were some English trailers availble from E3 but oh well, it'll be out soon enough.

The only thing FFX2 had going for it was Shuyin and Lenne, which in itself is a disappointment because you realized that you're stuck with Tidus and Yuna when you could've had Shuyin and Lenne as the heroes of FFX. I mean yes the whole point of FFX is that you've a band of misfits (minus one legendary guardian) lead by a guy who is a bumbling newbie Blitzball player and a summoner who is either about to have a mental breakdown or split personality (can't think of any other way to explain how Yuna turned out in FFX2). They didn't have any good plans and they weren't counting on any miracles in this world that is destined to spiral to its doom. They just had to defeat Sin because that's what needs to be done, and they did. But having said all that, I'll take a party of Shuyin/Lenne/Auron on the coolness factor over the existing FFX cast even if it makes no sense to the story.

I enjoyed FFX, and I'm looking forward to FFXII, but as a rule, I don't get excited about Sequel N + 1 if I haven't yet played Sequel N. Hopefully by the time FFXIII comes out, the PS3 will be in a reasonable price range by my standards, but I realize it probably won't. I might have to pass.

I'm sure I'll buy and play it, but I'm over looking to Square to take me on wonderful (or coherent) adventures anymore. They need better writing in that series or they may lose me completely one day.

I'm still way too pumped about 12 to worry about 13 for now. I was pretty much sold when they announced it was being developed by the Ivalice crew. The demo was also fun, and Famitsu gave it a 40. At the very least, it should be a decent game. FFXIII will get it's chance to shine soon enough.
And I loved X, but it does seem to get a lot of hate.
