I'm interested more in the new gameplay than anything. Most of the games I've enjoyed over the last few years have either been old-school style (MMZero games, for instance) or old school (I love the compilations) or new types of gameplay, such as Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, DS games, Shadow of the Colossus, and Guitar Hero.
Like with Blockbuster movies, I'm bored of the same old, same old...aside from MM of course :-)

Dammit. I was hoping they had some shots of Snake in action. I'm really excited to see what they'll do with him.

$10 says they add chaffe grenades as a weapon
BTW, they've mentioned they're not going to add guns, so yeah, it'll be interesting to see if they give him a weapon. I say he gets a knife

I wonder what other characters will be in the game. Possibly Sega, I don't think Capcom (since they have fighting games of their own).

There's been rumours of Sonic in Smash Bros for a while now, even for Melee, I believe.

Those rumours probably existed on the earlier games because so many people FOREVER have wanted to see this. Melee was a possibility due to Sega going third party, so people speculated that it might occur: This one has actual evidence for it: Miyamoto stated a while back that Sonic and Mario would be appearing in the same game on Wii.
Smash Brothers has a history going back to SNES, actually, the tournament fight mode in Kirby Superstar; same development team.

Get a DS and join us in Metroid sometime =)
Well, Smash will be an easier game to learn with likely a very mainstream following; a much better opportunity for online play; but we still have Metroid here!

On the official Smash Website, they are updating it regularly with introductions of the characters in the game. It'll probably be once a week.So far they have shown two, Meta Knight and Pit.
