Please note, this is a post to Sine based on previous conversation we've had in the past. I already know most of you don't care about the fact that these laws are coming through, so please spare the posts on "Zeus, why the hell are you bitching about this", I've heard them all before and your objections have been duly noted.
The most unbelievable part of this, to me, is the following quote:
"Under the law, no person, not even a minors' parents or guardians, would be allowed to give or show them an inappropriately violent game." (see third paragraph)
I can see the whole keep them out of kids sight things and I'm OK with placing restrictions on games like porn, even though I think it's too far, but to actually make it illegal for a parent to show GTA to a child is absurdity. That's like saying an adult can't give his 17-year-old a beer. Fucking nuts.
I told ya, Sine, this is more than just a couple of politicians trying to make a name for themselves. This still will soon hold up in court and you'll see crazy restrictions based off of out-of-touch politician's fear-mongering catering to an aging, hypocritical population, which, based off the last US election, is the voting majority.
Games = porn in retail, never though I'd see that when I was playing Mortal Kombat.
