  • 7 day trial for D&D MMO

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

The MMO craze has to end soon... i again tried another one, Guild Wars, and again got bored with it. Thanks, though, Bovine for the try out. Since this one is free i figure i'll fire it up this weekend, too, but dont expect to actually buy it.

I hear the transport missions are the big detractor for the game, but I really thought a lot of its ideas were fresh. Anyways I thought it was great, so consider this another recommendation... is that trial still on?
Yes the trial is still on, and you don't have to do those crappy cargo missions all day long. You just have to find an agent that is listed under a certain category, like Internal Security, or Command. Then you get all the BLOW ME UP missions.

Word to the wise, this game has a STEEP learning curve and takes well over 2 months before you can really do anything. I suggest you do your homework before you start thinking about playing. You can make a character, but I almost want to say your first character will not be the one you will be sticking with unless you use a guide to roll a decent character. Eve-info.com has a lot of info.

Hilarious video about Eve-Online. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... line&hl=en

Wouldnt that mean it has a flat learning curve? I always thought people said that wrong.

If you have "Proficiency" on the Y axis, and "Time" on the X axis than a game that takes a lot of time to master would result in a long flat line.... i guess if you flipped it it would be steep, but i've never heard of "Time" being on the Y.

Regardless, it takes some time getting used to the interface and there is a lot to learn as far as game mechanics go. I suggest using the tutorial after you make your first character. Once you do that, immediately buy all of the basic Learning skills and start training those (should take you about 2 months to train the basic skills to lvl 5 and then the advanced to lvl 4). This maxes out your training time so once you add implants, you can train the rest of your skills pretty quickly.

If anyone else here wants to play I'm in a pretty tight pvp corp right now and we can help you n00bs out if need be.
