So does everyone just want to post their Wii Code in one thread or would you all prefer to trade via PM? I don't care about posting mine online so here it is. Let me know when you add me. I'll add anyone who posts theirs or PMs theirs to me!

Believe it or not, I still do not have a Wii of my own, otherwise I would post mine. I am wondering, now, if the high shipment numbers Nintendo was touting were accurate.

Feel free to give it a try.
Let me know when the Feds come knocking at your door.
The expiration date is 99/99 and the security code is 000, btw.

I don't think they hit their million that some were estimating, but if my local little store was able to get 10 and each of the Walmarts, Futureshops, EBs, and Best Buys had at bare minimum of 25 (we have 2 Walmarts, 2 Futureshops, a Best Buy, and 4 EBs for 400,000 people), I can't imagine them shipping any less than 600,000 for day 1. And my bud's EB just got 15 more on Saturday and the Best Buy had 30 on Friday, so they're probably very close to that million right now, if not have surpassed it.
I'm waiting for the figures to come in, but it looks like there wasn't too much of a shortage, it was just less than the demand.

I would be expecting 75-150 units for stores like Wal Mart, Futureshop and EB games; that is what they had for DS Lite which launched with 750K units. Instead we got numbers that were less than half of that.
Nintendo, back in October, announced that they had produced over 2 million units already.

...worldwide. They have to prep for the European and Japanese launches as well.
I'm going by figures in my little tri-city area of 400,000 people. If you want to assume that this area alone (I'm not even including Zellers or HMV or other places that got some; Sears?) we got about 750 (that's reasonable based on people's reactions in town) then extrapolate that over the combined population of North America of 350 million, that would mean about 650,000 units. This is, of course, assuming that a) Canada got about 1/10th of the shipments, which we never do and b) our little city got the same proportional allotment that a place like New York or Toronto will.
So, estimating at least 600,000 units for launch day and on their way of their goal of 2 million by year end is, I'd say, a fair bet.

Wow, 600K it is, and over 450,000 units of Zelda: Twilight Princess sold. I can see this Zelda game beating out Ocarina of Time's 8.8 million sales.

Yeah, I added everyone last night myself. If you guys wanna send me a message when you got me set up, we can finalize the set up
One quick question: how do you send guys to the Mii parade? I noticed that my bud who I also set up last night had two of his Miis appear in my Mii parade but I'm not sure how to send my guys there. Is it all your favourites who get sent to the Mii parade?

I believe it's random. I don't know if Favorites matter in that. I don't know for sure since I can't view my own guys in a Mii Parade though.

You turn on mingle and then they'll start travelling to the parade. I'll go and turn all of mine on when I get home. I'm relatively certain they're all on now, but I'll make sure of it

Well, yeah, you have to have mingle on. I didn't mention that because I figured that part was obvious.

It appears to be automatic, though. It's not like making them your favourite will cause them to go to the parade. They should fix that so you can send guys to the parade.
BTW, any of you guys that got me set up, send me a message. I have all of you set up and am just waiting

Yeah, that screwed me up the first time too. I thought it was like the red lights of death on the Xbox 360 and was trying to figure out what the heck was wrong :-) It's meant to signify that there's either an update or a message from someone on your list, but it's still pretty weird.
Another thing I find kind of neat is the fact that you can send emails to normal email addresses. But it's a little cumbersome. I set it up with my email address to try it out. You get an email from an address that looks like
wxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@wii.com (the x's are your Wii console number) but it has no subject line or anything. It's just a form email from Nintendo saying "this Wii would like to establish contact, if you want to, reply". I can understand the whole idea behind requiring the other side to approve before you can send messages, but at least give them a chance to figure out where it's coming from. At least let us put a message in there for the other person to read so they don't just delete the message.
I can't wait for them to get the browser up and running properly, in particular the plug-ins. The flash player doesn't play everything (from my experiences on YouTube) and there isn't even a Quicktime plug-in, so I can't watch trailers on Apple's website. Thankfully there's a Macromedia plug-in. Also, I like the idea of the intelligent zoom and it generally works very well, but they need to give you the option of zooming in yourself for those rare occasions when the site isn't set up properly and the zoom doesnt' work.
BTW, for everyone surfing with the Wii, if you surf through Warppipe (
www.warppipe.com), it apparently speeds it up a bit. Check out the article at Slashdot for more details.

OK, So far I have discovered that the two most popular Mii's that people create are Jesus and Hitler (I actually got two of them). It's been about two weeks and I have already received 3 Jesuses, which puts my grand total in the collection to 4. Though I may have to get rid of a few once I hit 100; and I think my 100 mark is quickly approaching, I am already over 50.

? Do you have it wrapped up in a blanket or something? I haven't heard of any issues with the system. I would hope not considering it's the same freakin' technology as the 'Cube and they've been manufacturing that for 6 years now.

there was trouble with the first wave of consoles bricking after getting the first update. I believe oracle fell victim to that. Other than that, I have heard nothing of these disc read errors. Sorry for your temporary loss
