My first thought upon reading this was that Gray Fox was going to be in SSBB. Oh well, Fox is cool, too.

The only thing weird to me about this game is that the artwork for each fighter is totally different, Snake/Link have this detailed human look, Kriby/Meta Knight are cartoony as heck. I mean it'll work out in the end but that strikes me as weird.

I was worried about that as well, but when I actually see the gameplay in the trailers I lay my worries aside, as it all still has a natural look.

They meant to keep Kirby the same as the Gamecube graphics as some kind of joke =P

I find it so odd how they are being so damn secretive of the characters they're putting in. I'm still assuming most of the same ones from Melee

Who would they take out I wonder? Possibly Pichu, and kid Link (Though I think he is just being changed into wind waker style Link).

The rumors going around are that Young Link, Mr. Game and Watch, and Ice Climbers are being retired, but its just that, rumor. We wont know until the game comes out or they announce all the characters.

I wonder if they are just holding back information because they plan some sort of surprise in the weeks before its launch?

I think it would be quite interesting if they included characters from Sega games, and with the Virtual Console being a part of the Wii, it would make a lot of sense.

I am going to make a prediction right now that Roy will be removed from the next game. The reason being is that Roy was sort of a thing of the moment, he was the main character in the last Fire Emblem game released in Japan at the time of Melee's development. There is a Wii version of Fire Emblem in the works, they would likely replace him with the main character of that one. I doubt they would use Ike, simply because he looks too much like Marth; though you never know. I am wondering why no DS Fire Emblem has been announced yet? DS would be the perfect system for the game, in my opinion.
