Not really sure if it's your area or if it's the area the stadium is located in, but it looks like there will be weather in the game based on real weather by using the Forecast channel

This is a pretty cool idea. Like the article says, it should be an option, albiet a cool one, rather than something that's forced. If so, it's a very neat option.

Heh, I think it should be forced =)

Though I despise Madden (and sports games in general minus a select few), I am quite impressed by this feature. Imagine how it could be used in games such as Animal Crossing? And other sorts of RPG/Adventure games?

yeah, my bud finally installed his wireless router and lent me his WiFi adaptor (Nintendo one) so I got it installed. It's pretty freakin' neat, although it's just a novelty. It's not like I'm going to turn on my Wii just to find out the weather.

One thing: did anyone else find that it took FOREVER to update the Wii? I had to update three times (I think twice for firmware and once for the new channel) and it literally took 40 minutes to update between those three times before I could do anything. It was freakin' nuts. I hope all future updates done take so long that the next update is due by the time it's finished.

On that note, I'll post my Wii code tonight and get some of you guys on my list

A video game console in itself is a novelty :p To me it's cool functionality that allows me to see the weather without waiting for 10-15 minute on the weather channel on TV to get to my region :p

And regarding updates: The first two updates for me were pretty fast (total of 5 minutes). The weather channel update took FOREVER, but that's before I noticed that my bandwidth for downloading was capped by Azureus :o So I paused them, and the update finished in about 5-10 minutes.

I've never had any long downloads. I think the updates each took about a minute.
