If you don't want to know what they all are, then you shouldn't be reading this post. Anyways, the game has been released in Japan already and will soon be released in North America. This game is one of the most popular games in the series (a series where all of the games previously released in North America have been hailed by different fans as being the greatest RPG ever created). Anyways, as it stands:

Four new summons have been added. These summons are Diablos (one previously unique to Final Fantasy 8), Leviathan, Cactuar, and Gilgamesh.

Three new spells have been added: Brave, Flood, and Gravija.

Bugs removed: Vanish + Doom, Back attack + Evade, Psycho Cyan glitch, and Sketch glitch. Though I think Psycho Cyan and Sketch were fixed after initial shipments of the English Final Fantasy III.

Omega Weapon (Final Fantasy 8+) has been added to the game.

Once the game is finished, you can walk around the world and then continue onto the new Final Dungeon.

Awesome. I am definitely getting this as soon as it comes out. I've been waiting for this day for a long time. :)

Yep, if I recall, there were a few of us who wanted this game on GBA as soon as GBA was announced (along with Chrono Trigger, Terranigma, and Earthbound). I think Zeus was against all this for some reason.

Essentially we've been waiting for half a decade =P

I've heard that the translation we're getting is the same one we got years ago. That can be a good/bad thing depending on how you look at it. I would have LIKED to see the original script. Though around that time translations for Square games were alot better, then oh say FFIV heh.

We got the original translation for FF4, and it blew!

The thing about FF translation in the first few games is that Ted Woosley's translation did not seem to take the games seriously. On the other hand, it is impossible to take the direct Japanese translation seriously given how cheesy the original script is.

The FF6 translation for SNES was actually quite a bit more true to the Japanese version.

PS. I did a scan back. We've been waiting for this game for SO long that even Crono was posting about it =P

I was reading a post about how Zeus thought FF4 int he handheld market should stay exclusive to Wonder Swan (what the hell is wrong with you? =P).

What do you mean "the original script"? If you mean a literal Japanese-to-English translation of the original script, that would have been terrible. Instead of paraphrasing other people, read this thread:
http://www.gamespite.net/talking_time/v ... c&start=45

And Seek, why do you bother describing FF6 as "one of the most popular" in the series and all that? We all cut our teeth on games like FF6. We know how popular it is.

Anyway, I think I'll pass on FF6 Advance for the time being. I have a GB Player, not a GBA or DS, so I might as well just play my original copy on my SNES. (Although my SNES might have died. I still need to check something out.)

For Final Fantasy IV and V Advance, we got fresh scripts, and much cleaner translations. I for one appreciated that.

I've heard that the same script/dialog we had from the original Super NES released in North America FFVI would be in this FFVI Advance version.

I don't know why you 2 are so uppity about it, I was simpley saying I was hoping for similar treatment that IV and V got.

That thread you linked to Kupek was ridiculous, I can't believe I actually read through the entire thing. :( That being said, according to that thread it WILL add a few things that were cut out and polish off the old dialog. I'm happy to hear that.

The point I was trying to make through that thread was that we got a better translation for FFIV because its original translation was bad. But the original translation for FFVI was good, so there's not much to improve. So FFVI <i>can't</i> get the same treatment that FFIV got.

And I probably should have warned you that the thread devolved to haiku ridiculousnes later on.

Yes, yes you should have, it caught me off guard and I cried to myself for a little while before closing the window.

Me against FF6? There should be a law passed where you have to finish that game in order to complete high school, just so kids can actually learn what a good video game really is. Then, all those copies of FF7 that get sold on Ebay would be destroyed as people realize how truly shameful it was in comparison to FF6, thereby dramatically increasing the value of my game AND increasing the popularity of the true king of FF games.

Id be happy if they released that game three times a year :-)
